PayPal is a global e-commerce business enabling payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. It was founded in 1998 by Pierre Omidyar, with its headquarters in San Jose, California. It has become one of the world’s largest Internet payment companies, processing around $20 billion in transactions annually.
The company offers services to consumers and merchants that allow them to send and receive payments online. Consumers can use PayPal as an electronic wallet to pay for goods or services on the Internet, using an email address or mobile phone number as their username (ID) and password (PW).
